I was lucky enough to get into the theater where Clinton was engaged in debate prep before meeting Dole in Hartford in the fall of 1996. I was working fast, in low light, when suddenly I saw Clinton from the side lift his hands to his face. I raced around some stage equipment and had time to squeeze off one or two frames before his hands were gone. Almost simultaneously I was told to "wrap it up", and I left knowing in  my heart that I'd never see anything more illustrative of the moment than that-of course I got lucky and exposed it properly, and held my camera tight!
